James E. Lane

James Lane, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 5 surrounded by his loved ones.

Jim was born on February 23, 1933 in Ft. Oglethorpe to parents Captain James Lane and Pearl Ables Lane.  He was married for 53 years to his wife Vivian Presswood Lane.

Jim lived in East Ridge most of his life and was a member of Spring Creek Road Baptist Church.  He retired from Combustion Engineering where he worked for 34 years.   He graduated Lakeview High School and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents Toby and Pearl Lane, wife Vivian Lane, sisters Rosalie Wortman, Bobbie Jean Britton, brother Charles Lane.

Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather as well as a tremendous supporter to friends and family.   He loved his family dearly and would do anything for them.  He will be sorely missed.

He is survived by his daughters, Vicki Hill (Gary), Marcia Wade (Danny), grandchildren Ben Hill, Jessica Hill, Shelley Wade Berganske (Stephen), Brittany Wade.  Great Grandchildren Blaine Hill and Emma Claire Berganske, sister, Charlotte Williams, two sister in laws and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Friday, January 15, at 1:30pm with military honors.
