James Edwin Milling, Sr.

James Edwin Milling Sr., 72 of Rossville went home to be with our Lord on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at his home surrounded with his family.

He was a lifelong resident of the Fairview & Mountain View community.  James was a Member of the Fairview Baptist Church, in the Ahava Sunday School Class and served on various committees. James graduated from Rossville High School Class of 1966, where he played football.  He retired from Wheland Foundry.   

  James passion in life were God, his family, helping his son at James Milling Trucking, taking his grandson to yard sales, bragging about his granddaughter and  his daughters wonderful  cooking.  His favorite song was “What a Day That will be”. 

James is preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Joyce Milling.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 53 years Sandra Bryan Milling, Daughter and Son-in-Law Becky & Rob Chase, Son and Daughter-in-Law James & Missy Milling; grandson Matthew, Granddaughter Emily Bruce, Brother and Sister-in-Law Charles & Wanda Milling and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3rd at the Fairview Baptist Church, 108 Jenkins Road, Rossville at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Bennett officiating.  James will lie in state from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Burial will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville
