James “Jimmy” Whiddon, 65, of Ft. Oglethorpe went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 5, 2022. Jimmy had lived most of his life in North Georgia where he attended LFO High School. He was a Truck Driver by trade and was currently employed with Madison Truck Lines. Jimmy was a member of the Rock Pointe Church in Rossville. He was an “Armchair” weatherman, an avid Alabama fan, and he enjoyed fishing and camping. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Vivian Whiddon; brothers, Richard Curtis Whiddon, Charles Ray Whiddon, William Arther Whiddon, and Thomas Gene Whiddon.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Paula Whiddon; children, Carolyn Kittle, Paul Michael (Lauren) Whiddon, and William Arther “Billy” (Taylor) Whiddon; grandchildren, Samantha Goodwin, Baleigh Phillips, Brett Watts, Connor Whiddon, and Bradley Whiddon; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Keith Jones officiating.
Interment will follow in the Gordy Memorial Gardens in Ringgold, GA.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to help with the funeral expenses.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
