Jerry Uvon Sevy, 84 formerly of Americus, GA passed away Monday, September 16th, 2019.
Jerry was born in Nampa, Idaho and traveled across the country for many years during his service in the Army, but spent many years in Americus, GA. He served three tours in Vietnam as a Sergeant and an expert rifleman earning a Bronze Star; after returning to the states, he served as a Drill Instructor until his retirement from the Army. After his military service, Jerry worked for over 20 years with Cooper Lighting in Americus. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed working in the yard, fishing and reading Louis L’Mour novels.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah and Florence Sevy; brothers, John and Bob; and sisters, Jean and Sharon.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Sevy; son, Mike (Michelle) Sevy; grandchildren, Hanson, Katherine, and Lydia Sevy; brothers, Ross, Ronald, and Tommy; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, September 27th at 12pm in the Andersonville National Cemetery with military honors.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America at dav.org.
