Jerry Dean Simmons, 74, of Lookout Mountain, Georgia, the West Brow Community, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at his residence.
Jerry was born on September 27, 1943 in Excelsior, West Virginia to the late George & Johnnie Steele Simmons, but had lived the greater part of his life on Lookout Mountain. He was a retired truck driver having driven for Turnbull Cone Company for many years and he retired from Bobby Fryar trucking. Jerry was a member of Payne’s Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed race cars and spending time with his family. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Wayne Simmons.
Survivors include his loving wife, Darlene Simmons; children, Donna Simmons Drain, Jerry Dean Simmons, II, Joe Edward Simmons, Renee Michelle Litchfield, & Daly Georgette Simmons Bolton; grandchildren, James Ryan Drain & Cooper Reed Litchfield; several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6th at 1:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with interment to follow in Paynes’ Chapel Cemetery, Lookout Mountain.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 5th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
