Jimmy Palmer

Jimmy “Rooster” Palmer, 66, of Rossville passed away at his home on May 21, 2023.  He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. For many years Rooster was an over the road truck driver and worked as a diesel mechanic for over 20 years.  He dearly loved his children and grandchildren. In earlier years Rooster enjoyed building model cars, coaching his children’s little league teams and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his son, Jimmy E. Palmer; parents, Lois and Nancy Palmer; grandparents, John and Mary Palmer; and ex-wife, Peggy Sue Palmer.

Surviors include two sons, Matthew (Ashly) Palmer and William (Courtney) Palmer; brother, David (Tresa) Palmer; four sisters, Jessie (Larry) Broom, Sara (Larry) Callaway, Susie (Eddie) Doss and Lisa Atchley; six grandchildren, Eric Palmer, Kalup Palmer, Harleigh Palmer, Christopher Palmer, Ryan Palmer and Jayme Palmer; one great-granddaughter, Gracelynn Palmer; and several nieces and nephews.
