Jo Anne Johnson Cyphers, went home to be with the Lord with her granddaughter by her side on September 24, 2023. She was born on September 13, 1936 in Chattanooga, TN. Jo Anne was a 1954 graduate of Central High School in Chattanooga. She was a member of South Seminole Baptist for many years where she enjoyed being a part of the adult choir and teaching in the preschool department. Jo Anne has been a member of Parkway Baptist in Fort Oglethorpe since 2019.
She enjoyed cooking, keeping and spoiling her grandchildren, working in her flower garden, sitting in the outdoors, playing piano and playing Sudoku.
Jo Anne is preceded in death by her parents Ernest J. and Louise Childs Johnson; brother, Jerry Johnson; grandsons, Cameron Knox and Taylor Thomas; Oza Tanner, Jimmy D. Knox and Robert (Bob) E. Cyphers.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Renee Tanner, Cheryl Tanner Hall (Larry), Eric S. Knox (Brittany) and Chad D. Knox; beloved sisters, Myra J. (Doug) Rosser and Sharon J. (Freddy) Cook; grandchildren, Tiffany Hall (Dustin) Watson, Taryn Hall (Darrel) Lynn, Shannon (Nick Langston) West, Hayden Thomas, Abby Knox, Cole Knox and Cade Knox; 6 great grandchildren, Tanner, Bre, Waylon, Malia, Jace and Conner; several nieces, nephews and other extended family.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 2:00 in the South Crest Chapel.
Visitation will be Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 12:00 until the service hour at 2:00.
