Joan C. (Ireland) Amlung

Joan C. Amlung, 73 of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday June 4th, 2019 in a local hospital.

Joan was born in Gulf Port, MS but lived most of her life in Florida and Tennessee. She graduated from Central High School where she was a member of the poetry club and attended Chattanooga State Community College. Joan was of the Christian faith and always believed that God was in control. She enjoyed reading, volunteering, visiting the mountains in Gatlinburg, and hearing the waves on Dayton Beach. Above all, Joan loved her daughters with all she had and will be greatly missed.

Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Hank Amlung; parents, Robert and Edwina Ireland; grandson, Dalton McConathy; and granddaughter, Kimberly Hudson.

Survivors include her three daughters: Shannon Cribbs, Dawn Vogt, and Kim Lowery; two sisters, Charlotte (Bill) Vines and Darlene (Al) Holder; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 8th, 2019 at 11am in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Brian Carrol officiating.
