John Peter Dunleavy, Sr.

John P. Dunleavy, Sr., 75 of Rossville, passed away Wednesday, November 27, 2019 in a local hospital.

Born in Quincy, MA, John graduated class of 1962 from North Quincy High School and attended business school at the University of Michigan. He served 6 years in the U.S. Air Force and traveled the country during his time in the military and during his corporate career.  John worked for over 25 years with Digital Equipment Corporation and for several other private and publicly traded companies. He was heavily involved in business and civic groups and was known as a leader in the greater Atlanta business community. John was well respected for his business knowledge and was considered a friend and mentor by many. His sound judgment and service to others will not be forgotten.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Loretta Dunleavy.

Survivors include his sons; John (Jennifer) Dunleavy, Jr. and Joe (Melissa) Dunleavy; partner, Annelle Hammond; grandchildren, Liam, Evan, and Abigail Dunleavy; sister, Nancy (Paul) Coulombe; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held, Wednesday, December 4th at 10am in the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul at 214 East 8th Street Chattanooga, TN with Reverend Colin Blatchford officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery.
