John J. McNulty Jr.

John was born on August 3, 1936 and passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017. John was a long- time resident of Abilene, TX.  John was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to John McNulty and Mary LeClair.  He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force for twenty-two years and was a Vietnam veteran.  After is service in the Air Force, he graduated from McMurray College and worked for many years as a social worker primarily assisting the elderly.  He loved His Lord and served in many capacities in several area Baptist churches through the years. 

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandra McNulty.  He is survived by his wife Joyce McNulty; his brother Billy McNulty of Central Falls, RI, sisters; Betty St. Pierre of Central Falls, RI and Evelyn Towner of Cumberland, RI; four sons; Dennis McNulty of Ringgold, GA, Mark McNulty of Ballinger, TX, Kenneth McNulty of Katy, TX and Ernest McNulty of Waco, TX; stepsons: Ron Huyck of Abilene, George Huyck of Dallas, Scott Huyck of Cedar Hill, TX, Danny Huyck of Dallas and Jimmy Huyck of Abilene daughters-in-law; Renee McNulty of Ringgold, GA, Janie McNulty of Ballinger, TX, and Allison McNulty of Katy, TX, Terri Huyck of Abilene, Tracy Huyck of Dallas, Janet Huyck of Cedar Hill, TX, and Cristy Huyck of Dallas, TX; 8 grandchildren; Bonnie Brooks of Cody WY, Austin McNulty of Colorado Springs, CO, Travis, Hailey and Sean McNulty of Ringgold, GA, Kristy McNulty of Austin, TX, Dawn Carter of Hot Springs, AR and Alyssa McNulty of Katy, TX and three-great-grandchildren: Olivia Brooks of Cody, WY, Maximus and Deacon McNulty of Colorado Springs, CO.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 in the chapel of North’s Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis McNulty officiating.  Interment will follow at The Texas State Veterans Cemetery at Abilene.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, alzfdn.org.
