John Franklin “Frank” “Paw Paw” Plunkett, 65 of Chickamauga, GA passed away Tuesday, July 28th, 2020 at his home.
Frank was born in Ft. Oglethorpe, GA and spent his entire life in the North Georgia area. He attended Lakeview High School then joined the Army and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Frank was a proud veteran, a patriotic American, and a member of New Friendship Baptist Church. He worked as a truck driver for many years, most recently for Southern Champion Tray. Outside of work, Frank enjoyed going to the shooting range, metal detecting, his Harley Davidson “Road King,” hanging out by the pool, spending time with his grandchildren, and sitting on the porch drinking sweet tea.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Plunkett and Cinderella Creekmore.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Karen Plunkett; children: Amber (Michael) Goodwin, Danny (Casey) Plunkett, Kevin (Labriska Rhinehart) Watson, and Aaron (Jessica) Plunkett; grandchildren: Kyle, Chandler, Avery, Fisher, Shepherd, Kaleigh, Kaitlyn, Nevaeh, Kellen, Josie, Amelia, Conner, and Colten; great grandchildren: Kyla, Anna, Everleigh, and Neyland; sisters: Faye (Roger) Perkins and Peggy (Charles) Howell; and nephews: Eric Howell and Jarrod Perkins.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 1st, 2020 at 1pm in the South Crest Chapel with Brother Darrell Broome officiating. Webcasting of the service will be available on Lane’s website.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society at cancer.org.
