Tribute

John C. Anderson, known as "Kip" to us all was born in Martinsville, VA on August 21, 1953. He left this earth to go to his Heavenly home on July 30, 2022.

He loved nature, woodworking, (started at a young age) and had many other interests such as birdwatching, hiking, avid golfer, competitive runner, and had the most contagious laugh.

Kip was most compassionate and well-liked by family and friends. He loved animals, especially his dogs Nina and Fudge. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in Biology, but once graduating immediately turned his attention to woodworking in the 70's and from then on continued with opening 'his own business, Old Mountain Woodworks and fast became known for his fine master craftmanship. He has many beautiful works at the Bluff View Art District in various shops and restaurants. He did work for Barnsley Gardens, The Honors, and designed and built custom-made furniture, flooring, jewelry for the last 45 years. He also worked as a Caddie at the Honors and was regarded as one of the regularly requested by many of the members.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard L. Anderson and nephew, Harry T. Anderson.

Kip is survived by his mother, Betsy T. Anderson, 2 brothers, Harry W. Anderson, Richard L.

Anderson, Jr. (Lisa), and his sister, B. Lee Anderson and many cousins, uncles and aunts.

In lieu of flowers, and because of Kip's love of plants, flowers, you are welcomed to make a donation to Reflection Riding and Arboretum in Chattanooga, and/or a "plant a tree" through the Tennessee Conservationist, or the Humane Educational Society for his love of animals.
