Joseph Perry "JP" Magness

Joseph Perry “JP” Magness, 68, of Morristown, TN passed away Friday, September 22, 2023. He was born in Wichita, Kansas to James Robert Magness and the late Virginia Ruth Harris Magness on August 26, 1955. JP loved fishing, vanilla wafers, his mother’s homemade jello cookies, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family

He was preceded in death by his Mother; Virginia Ruth Magness, Sister; Thia Ann Whittington, Nephew; “Little Danny” Magness Jr., maternal Grandparents; Joseph and Tessie Harris, paternal Grandparents; Jacob Perry and Bessie Lorraine Magness.

Survivors include his Father, James Robert Magness, eight Brothers and their spouses; Robert and Donna Magness, Ricky and Tina Magness, Danny and Amanda Magness, Calvin Ray Magness, Jerry Magness, Mark and Rita Magness, Darren and Stephanie Magness, Tracy and Heather Magness, an abundance of Nieces, Nephews and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends after 4:00 PM Monday, September 25, 2023 and after 9:00 AM Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at Lane Funeral Homes South Crest Chapel.

The funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 27, 2023 in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Pastor Lamar Walker officiating.

Interment will follow in Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park, Rossville, Georgia.
