Joyce Marie (Riddle) Hicks

Joyce Marie Riddle Hicks, 81, of Rossville, Georgia passed away September 13, 2023. She was born to the late Russell and Inez Owens Riddle on January 17, 1942 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Joyce was a homemaker, a member of Lakeview First Baptist Church and a former member of Lookout Valley Baptist Church. She enjoyed her dogs, loving on cat Abbie, visiting with neighbors on the front porch but most of all, she loved taking care of people, especially her Grandson, Josh when he was little. Joyce and her daughter Tonja were Josh’s biggest fans through years of sports. They were dedicated bleacher Nannie and Mom, and then to her great-grandson, Neyland.

She was also preceded in death by her Husband; Robert “Bob” Harold Hicks, Sister; Linda Gilbert, and Uncle; Earl Owens.

Survivors include her Daughter; Tonja Hicks, her Brother and his Wife; Rusty and Linda Riddle, Grandson and his Wife; Joshua and Katie Payne. Great Grandchildren; Neyland Henry Payne and Fisher Kate Payne, several Nieces and Nephews and other extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm Sunday, September 17, 2023 in the South Crest Chapel.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery Monday, September 18, 2023 at 10:30 am.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm Sunday until to the funeral hour at 6:00 pm in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, Georgia.
