My deepest sympathy to June's family. I did not know her well, but I've known the Finnegan family since my childhood. I grew up in Peekskill, NY, where my dad was principal of Peekskill High School. My uncle, William Winters, was a musician and, if memory serves, Ed Finnegan played with him. In later years, Joe Finnegan and his wife, Gladys, were our neighbors, and Gladys, though older than I, became a treasured friend. I haven't heard from her in several years, but I'm told she's living with one of her children following Joe's death.
I did meet June once at the Ronald McDonald House, where she was a faithful volunteer, and, at the time of her husband's death, I wrote to express my sympathy and tell her of our "relationship."
My sympathy to those who survive June.
Sincerely,
Marcia Kling
