Jay Shoemake
Kenneth Jay Shoemake, 59, of Rossville passed away Monday, June 17, 2019. Jay was a native of Rossville where he was a 1978 graduate of Rossville High School. After high School Jay received a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Georgia and he also graduated at the top of his class from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta with a degree in Graphic Design. Jay lived many years in Atlanta where he was a graphic designer with The Houser Group. Jay never met a stranger. He was known for his generous heart, his wonderful sense of humor, and his natural artistic abilities. Jay loved his family and his friends dearly.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Donald and Letha Shoemake; and his maternal grandparents, Al and Arlene White.
Survivors include his parents, Ronald “Ron” and Jo Ann Shoemake; sister and brother-in-law, Rhonda and Randy Whiting; nephew, Ross (Dallas) Whiting; niece, Rachael (Dustin) Endinger; and three great nephews, Cash and Ford Shields and Case Endinger.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:00p.m. at Burning Bush Baptist Church with Reverend Pat Davis and Reverend Dennis McNulty officiating. Jay will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.
Interment will follow in the Burning Bush Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 3-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
