Kenneth Justin Coates

Kenneth Justin Coates, 27 of Rossville, passed away Sunday, June 14th, 2020.

Justin was born and raised in the Chattanooga area. He attended South Seminole Baptist Church for many years and most recently became a member of Parkway Baptist Church. Justin was a 2011 graduate of Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe High School and graduated from UTC with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a hard working employee of Prater’s Flooring for 9 years. Justin enjoyed playing basketball, fishing, riding his motorcycle and dirt bike, UGA football, and going anywhere he could take his kayak. Justin was known as a “MacGyver” who could work on and fix just about anything.  He was always dependable, upbeat and smiling; friend to many and the best big brother to his sisters. Justin is much loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Justin is preceded in death by his sister, Chrystal Nichole Coates; and grandfathers: Kenneth Rayburn Coates and Raymond Arlen Richardson.

Survivors include his parents: Dewayne (Karen Baker) Coates and Sonya Coates; sisters, Jessica and Jennifer Coates; grandmothers, June Coates and Juanell Richardson; several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18th at 2pm in the South Seminole Baptist Church at 1201 South Seminole Dr. East Ridge, TN with Pastor Drew Tankersley and Dr. David Sampson officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4-8pm in the South Crest Chapel and Thursday from 1pm until the service hour in the South Seminole Baptist Church. Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
