Kenny "Pencil" Lamar Fowler

February 11, 1961 ~ January 21, 2022 (age 60) 60 Years Old

Tribute

Our Dad, Kenny “Pencil” Lamar Fowler, 60, went to play bass for his Heavenly Father on Friday, January 21, 2022. On February 11, 1961, Kenny was born to Rev. William “Billy” Fowler, Jr., and Mrs. Wilma Fowler in Chattanooga, TN.

Dad was the greatest man we have ever known. He taught us the meaning of love every day. We never ended a phone call or left the house without an “I love you.” Dad knew he was in love with Mom from the very beginning of their relationship. That love carried them through 38 wonderful years, two incredible daughters, three adorable grandchildren, and countless memories. Dad was our superhero. He had a joke for every moment, making us laugh until we cried. Dad worked hard to give us everything we wanted. When there wasn’t anything else he could do, he gave us himself, and that was the greatest gift of all. From birthdays to anniversary’s, performances to the birth of his grandchildren, Dad was always there. He never missed a chance to tell us he was proud of us or that he couldn’t ask for a better family. In sickness or health, Dad was there for all of us. He loved mom more than we could ever put into words. A soulmate comes once in a lifetime, and Dad was Moms. Dad was more than a husband and father; he was a brother, a Poppa, an uncle, a best friend, a musician, a human GPS, a good man. Dad gave us direction. Whether that direction was in life or on the road, Dad always knew what to say, but he especially knew how to get us where we needed to be. We know Dad had the perfect directions to the gates of heaven, and when he got there, he wrote them out for us. Dad once was our superhero, but now he’s our guardian angel. We love you, Dad, “We’ll be back after a word from our sponsibles.”

Once he got to heaven, Kenny made a heavenly band with his father Billy, his brother David Ray Fowler, and his sister Sandra Gail Fowler.

The band he leaves behind includes: his loving wife of 38 years, Becky Fowler, daughters; Tiffany (Robby) Ramsey, and Tabitha Fowler, grandchildren; Addy and Bobby Ramsey and Brenton “Bugs” McCarvey, mother, Wilma Fowler, siblings; Deborah (Joey) Llewellyn, Rhonda (Scott) Gay, Daniel (Amanda) Fowler, mother and father-in-law, Kenneth and Sharon Whitmire, brother and sisters-in-law, Mark (Brenda) Whitmire, Shawna Waldrep, and Karen Whitmire. Many nieces and nephews also cherish Kenny’s memory, as well as countless best friends who he loved dearly.
