Lea Nicole Hancock

Lea Nicole Johnson Hancock, 30 of Rossville, passed away Saturday, May 1st, 2021.

Lea was born and raised in the North Georgia area and graduated in the 2009 Class of Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe High School. She attended GA Northwestern Technical College where she studied nursing and attended the Redemption to the Nations Church (RTTN) in Chattanooga. She enjoyed swimming, taking trips to the ocean, going shopping, was an avid softball player, and most of all loved spending time with her children. Lea could light up a room with her beautiful personality. She was fun to be with, friendly, and accepted people for who they were. Lea will always be remembered for her devotion to her children and for her kind and accepting spirit.

Lea was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Virgil Johnson; maternal grandparents, Gary Ivey and Theresa Payne.

Those left to cherish her memory are: her husband, James “Slim” Hancock; children: Destina Hancock, Ashleigh Hancock, Makynna Guillot, Madisynn Hancock, and Jameson Hancock; parents, Greg and Christy Johnson; mother-in-law, Mina Hancock; siblings, Tanner (Allisha) Johnson and Alyssa (Michael Verijnikov) Johnson; sister-in-law, Treasure Russell; paternal grandmother, Claudette Johnson; aunt, Cheryl (Jeff) Fraley; uncle, Donald (Stephanie) Johnson; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and many friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 11th, 2021 at 1pm in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Kevin Wallace officiating. Interment will follow in the Calvary Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org in Lea’s honor.

The family will receive friends on Monday from12-8pm and Tuesday from 9am until the funeral hour in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
