Leon Hill, 70 of Rock Spring, passed away Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in his home surrounded by his loving family.
Leon was a native of Winchester, TN and lived most of his life in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas. He was a proud US Army veteran who served two tours in Vietnam as a Door Gunner. Leon earned numerous medals during his military service including the medals for Valor, the Purple Heart, and two Bronze Stars. He earned his certificate in welding from GA Northwestern in the 1980s and was a member of the Boilermakers Local Union #454. After his retirement from Local 454, Leon worked as a Safety Director for the National Boiler Service. Leon was of the Baptist faith and a member of Shields Baptist Church. His passions in life were restoring muscle cars, picking his guitar and singing, hunting, fishing, gardening, watching the Falcons, and he loved to tell a good joke.
Leon was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruby Hill.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Cathy D. Hill; two children: Danny (Kristie) Hill and Dia (Keith) Perry; three sisters: Sadie Copeland, Betty Jo Norling, and Carolyn Ann Teems; grandchildren: Lacy Vann, Presley Hill, Lacy Shadrick, Peyton McGee, and Jake Perry; one great granddaughter, Riley Vann; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 12 noon in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Bill Proctor and Chaplain Ricky Studdard officiating.
Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park with military honors.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-8p.m. and Saturday from 10:00a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
