Lester H. Pitman, Jr. 91, of Flintstone, GA passed away Monday, February 5, 2018.  Mr. Pitman was a United States Marine Corps veteran having served during World War II seeing action in Okinawa.  He retired in 1981 from Combustion Engineering with 30 years of service.  He loved bird hunting, fishing and watching Georgia football and the Atlanta Braves.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Otsie Pitman; parents, Lester Pitman, Sr. and Irene Pitman; and sister, Aileen Oliver.

Survivors include his sons, Ben (Cheryl) Pitman, Joe Pitman, Robert (Betty) Burrell, and William (Brenda) Burrell; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 2:00p.m. at the High Point Cemetery with Reverend Terry Burns officiating.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 4-8p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
