Lillie Louise "Bunk" (Sartain) Teague

December 22, 1935 ~ February 4, 2020 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Lillie Louise “Bunk” Teague, 84, of Chickamauga, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 4, 2020.

Louise was a fireball pistol from Tracy City, Tennessee and spent the greater part of her life in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area.   She retired from Siskin Steel working in the Accounting Department.   After her retirement Louise worked with Walker County Transportation riding the bus, helping with special needs children.

Her family members say she was the strongest woman they knew.  She knew what she wanted and was not afraid to speak her mind.  Louise loved family and friends and would do anything she could to help someone even if it meant she went without. She loved to shop and never passed up a good deal on shoes or jewelry.  On Sundays she would cook a lunch that would put the finest restaurants to shame and wouldn’t share her recipes with a soul!  Her family was convinced she put a dash of love in every bite but when you’d ask her the ingredients she would say “a little bit of this and a little bit of that”!  Friends would often have her baking for them.  Louise played the piano selflessly at every church John Teague (Paw) preached at even when she did not feel up to it.  She never had a piano lesson and learned to play by ear. She reminded her family if the Lord gave you a talent you should use it or He will take it away!  She would sing with her son in church “Do you know my Jesus” and we know she knew Him. We know today she is looking down from Heaven with Paw and her baby who passed away at an early age.

Louise was preceded in death by her parents  Cleytus & Thelma Sartain, loving husband of 64 years John C. Teague, son;  Steven Nathaniel Teague, one brother and two sisters.

Left to cherish her memory is her son and daughter-in-law Calvin Dewayne & Nancy Teague of Chickamauga; five grandchildren Johnny Teague, Keesha & Ricky Millard, Derrick & Lisa Teague, Kristy & Nathan Meade, Brian & Kelly Strickland, eight great-grandchildren; Gage & Sydney Teague, Nate Strickland, Kelsey Lee, Drew Meade, J.C. Teague, Maddox Millard, Ella Meade & Ava Grace Teague, as well as one great-great- grandchild John Teague.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Drew Tankersley officiating, Wayne Wallin & Neal Powell speaking and Kristen Quarles singing. Interment will follow in Forest Hills Cemetery.

Pallbearers Johnny Teague, Brian Strickland, Gage Teague, Derrick Teague, Nathan Meade, Drew Meade and Ricky Millard.
