Louie F. Smith, 85 of Chattanooga, TN passed away Thursday, December 30th, 2021 in a local healthcare facility.
Louie was born in Gurley, AL and graduated from high school in Anchorage, Alaska. He spent the majority of his life in the Chattanooga and East Ridge areas. Louie worked as a Sales Manager with the Bowers Automotive Group and retired after 50 years of service in the automotive industry. He was very well respected by his customers and coworkers alike. Outside of work, Louie enjoyed watching NASCAR races and the Atlanta Braves and had a passion for cars. He never met a stranger and will be remembered for his witty sense of humor and strong work ethic.
Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Margaret Smith.
Survivors include his sons: Dale (Denise) Smith, Donnie (Cinde) Smith, and Ronnie (René) Smith; grandchildren: Jesseca (Johnathan) Davidson, Jamie (Trey) Davis, and Ashton Smith; great grandchildren: Diamond Stephens, Iceley Stephens, and Benson Davis; and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 5th, 2022 at 12pm in the South Crest Chapel with Jerry Smith officiating. The family will receive friends from 10am until the funeral hour. A private family interment will be held in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South at a later date.
We respectfully request that all those in attendance wear facemasks and follow social distancing protocols. Masks will be available upon request at the funeral home.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Lantern at Morning Pointe in Collegedale, TN, the staff of Heart Hospice, and especially Louie’s hospice nurse Issac Mitchell, for their kind and compassionate care.
