Marcus DeJuan Reed, 39 of Rossville, passed away Wednesday June 3rd, 2020 in a local hospital.
Marcus was born in Azores, Portugal and lived in several different places in the southern United States including Lewisburg, Columbia, and Murfreesboro, TN. He graduated from Central High School in Columbia, TN and studied computer science at Tennessee Tech in Shelbyville, TN. Marcus attended Venue Church in Ringgold and worked for HomeServe as a customer service representative. His passion in life was working as a care giver for children with disabilities. Marcus also enjoyed fishing, traveling, all genres of music, cooking, especially on his new grill, and most of all spending time with his family and friends. He will always be remembered for his smile, sense of humor and wit. Marcus loved to make people laugh and when asked how he was doing he replied, “I’m just trying to get there.” He is deeply loved and will be missed.
Marcus was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Martha and Cecil Johnson; and aunt, Shirley Moss.
Survivors include his wife, Heather Reed; children: Allanah Reed and Aidan Lee; mother, Renée (Jack) Mason; father, Timothy (Jutta) Reed, Sr.; siblings: Onya (Kevin) Davis, Tandria (Marcus) Ellison, and Timothy Reed, Jr.; nieces and nephews: Kelsey Tears, Tamia Davis, Taraji Davis, Zaevion Ellison, and Keivon Ellison; and many devoted aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 9th, 2020 at 1pm in the South Crest Chapel with Minister Anthony Walker officiating. Webcasting of the funeral is available on Lane’s website. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8p.m. with social distancing guidelines being observed in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
