Marion "Smokey" Bundy

Marion “Smokey” Bundy, 75, of Chickamauga went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 10, 2023.  Smokey was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area.  He was a roofer by trade for nearly fifty years.  He owned Smokey’s Roofing until 2012 and he could still be found working on roofs throughout the area.  Smokey was a longtime member of East Ridge Church of the Nazarene and was currently a member of Chattanooga First Church of the Nazarene.  He loved the Lord and his family dearly.  He took pride in being a roofer and thoroughly enjoyed doing this for a living.  Smokey was an avid Alabama football fan, enjoyed going to car shows, and will be known for his smile and sense of humor.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Yvonne Bundy; sisters, Ann Yates, Corinna Johnson, and Cathy Hilley; and brother, Jimmy Bundy.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Sandra Bundy; children, Andrea (Josh) Sharrock, Mike (Heidi) Overall, Tim (Julie) Overall, Kim Heard, and Karen Jenkins; brothers, Harry (JoAnn) Bundy and Bobby (Joyce) Bundy; six grandchildren, Ashley (Austin) Young, Justin (Sydney) Overall, Courtney (Drake) Brock, Hannah (Mike) Francis, Gavin Sharrock, and Ellie Sharrock; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Eric Johnson and Pastor Don Taylor officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4-8p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
