Marvin Bryan, 74, of Flintstone, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at his residence.
Mr. Bryan was born in Bell Buckle, Tennessee on September 11, 1943 to the late David J. and Mary Frances Bryan and has resided in the Flintstone community for several years. Mr. Bryan retired from the United States Marine Corp as a Master Sargent following 20 years of service from 1961 until 1981 and was also deployed to Vietnam, where he received several commendations. Following his military career, he also worked the United States Department of Agriculture for 20 years as a property manager. He loved the outdoors and enjoying his retirement. He was Baptist by faith and was a member of Peavine Baptist Church in Rock Spring.
Survivors include his sons, Marty C. Bryan, East Ridge, Joshua Bryan, Flintstone, and daughter, Morgan (Jesse) Bryan Taylor, Chickamauga, Phoebe Bryan, Tullahoma, grandson, Jacob Bryan, Murfreesboro, brothers, James D. (Bonita) Bryan, Chickamauga and Bobby G. Bryan, Atlanta, sister, Margie (John) Lively, Tiftonia, several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Chattanooga National Cemetery. Military honors will be observed.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
