Mary Ruth Ragland Greene, 67, of Rossville, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in a local hospital.

 

Mary was born in Henegar, Alabama on August 22, 1949, raised in Chattanooga, and had been a resident of Rossville for over 45 years. She was a member of Lakeview First Baptist Church and a former member of Ridgedale Baptist Church. Mary was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1967 as well as J. Rogers School of Hair Design in 1968, an avid University of Tennessee and Peyton Manning fan. Before becoming disabled, she enjoyed dancing, crafts, working in her yard and being with family and friends. Due to her health, she retired at age 58 from Barto, Hoss & Co. after 11 years, holding the position of Medical Billing Specialist and Coder. She had been a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders and American Association of Medical Assistants.

 

Mary is preceded in death by her parents, R.W. (Rags) and Alpha Ragland, daughter, Susan Renae, maternal and paternal grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.

 

Survivors include brother and best buddy, Ernest “Ernie” Ragland, grandsons, Joshua “T.J.," her “Little Man” and his wife Mariah and Rickey Lee, great-grandson, Tristan (her “Little Man 2’), several cousins, numerous friends and her four legged baby Roxie.

 

It was Mary’s wish to thank her physicians, Michael Greer and Heath Giles for their professional and compassionate care and also to her Barto & Hoss “Family” of friends for all their financial assistance and prayers.
