On November 9th, Mary Lynn Rowan Daugherty, 74, of Chattanooga, TN passed into the arms of the Savior she loved so much. From an early age, she was exposed to Gospel music and the Word of God growing up singing and playing the piano and organ in church. She loved attending church and was a member of the Lake Hills Church of God where she enjoyed singing with her family and in the girl’s trio. Her involvement in church activities was one of her priorities and she was always the first to volunteer when help was needed.
She was a member of the 1964 graduating class of Chattanooga High School and worked for Pilgrim’s Pride where she retired after 30 years of service.
While her sense of humor was infectious, Mary Lynn brought joy to everyone. She was a giving and loving person always putting her family and friends before herself. Mary Lynn was determined to live life to the fullest radiating happiness and enlightening every place with her smile. Friendships were important to Mary Lynn and she especially cherished her monthly outings with “the girls”. Her uplifting spirit shined throughout her illness and she concentrated on loving her God and her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Ruth Rowan; brother, Eddie Rowan; husband, Wayne Dyer; Aunt, Edith Hayward; and stepson, Ken Daugherty.
Mary Lynn is survived by her loving husband, Bill Daugherty; her three children: Susan (Mike) Bertani, Kevin (Cindy) Dean, and Crista Curtis; and step-daughter, Kathy (Patrick) Cranmer; three grandchildren: Kayla (Jacob) Phillips, Nick Bertani, and Andrew Dean; two great-grandchildren: Hunter Phillips and Amelia Dean; three nieces: Sherrie (Mark) Anderson, Rhonda Dotson, Vickie Phillips, and Kristen Schillaci; two great nieces: Devon Phillips and Kinsey Anderson; one great nephew, Drew Anderson; one great great nephew, Aiden Cockburn; and one great great niece, McKaila Bryson.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, the visitation and graveside service will be private.
