Michael A. “Mike” Thompson, 66, of Rossville passed away Friday, September 24, 2021 at a local hospital. Mike was a lifelong resident of North Georgia where he was a self-employed contractor for many years. He was a “jack of all trades” who could do or fix anything and everything. Mike was of the Church of God faith and he grew up in the Rossville Church of God. His passions in life were his family, enjoying the outdoors, hunting, fishing, golfing and camping.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell and Willene Thompson; and brother, Buddy Thompson.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Thompson; five children, Allen McTaggart (Debbie Cothran), Michael Smith, Robert Smith (April), Kristie McTaggart (James Smythers); and Elizabeth Bunch (Richard); brother, Jimmy Thompson; sisters, Debbie Newman (Lebron), Mary Pritchett (Randy), and Janice Taylor; ten grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Browns Gap Cemetery on Sand Mountain.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12 noon until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
