Mildred "Millie" (Hughes) Van Dyke

Mildred “Millie” Van Dyke, 68, of Tunnel Hill, passed away Monday, September 14, 2020.  She was born to the late, Eugene and Ada Hughes.  Millie was a 1970 graduate of Kirkman High School.  She was employed with Family Wealth Advisory.  Millie was fun loving and loved life.   She enjoyed listening to oldies music, cooking, liked watching red birds and was an expert seamstress.  Millie was very proud of her family and enjoyed time they spent together especially her time with grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Betty Young and brother, Dude Hughes.

Survivors are her loving husband, David Van Dyke; children, Shannon (James) Adams, Ringgold, Amanda (Chan) Painter, Tunnel Hill, Elizabeth (Derek) Swanson, Ooltewah, Ashley Van Dyke, Ringgold, David (Jill) Van Dyke, Ringgold, Daniel Van Dyke, Ringgold, Donna (Steve) Brand, Viera, Fla., 14 grandchildren, Chandler, Jordan, Madison, Aaron , Jacob, Ella, Aubrey, Bryson, Zachary, Tristen, Jaelyn, Isaac, Jenna and Greyson; siblings, Frank Hughes, Richard Hughes, Barbara (Red) Hancock, Kenneth (Lola) Hughes, Carolyn (James) Patterson, and David Hughes. And several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020, from 5-8 pm at Lane Funeral Home, South Crest Chapel.
