Norman W. Haley, Sr., 91 of Rossville passed away Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 in a local healthcare facility.
Norman was born in Tuscaloosa, AL but lived most of his life in the North Georgia and Chattanooga areas. He was a talented guitar player who was passionate about blue grass music and George Jones. In his younger years, Norman enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. He was a high spirited man who joined the Navy at a young age to help support his family. After Norman was discharged, he earned his licenses as an electrician and plumber for commercial construction. Norman also greatly enjoyed driving a truck for Diamond Carpets.
Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Billye Ruth Haley; daughter, Ellen Michelle Barley; brothers, Jack and Clinton “Red” Haley; sister, Juanita York; Augusta Brummitt; and father, Jasper Haley.
Survivors include his sons, Norman “Butch” (Coni) Haley and Charles Haley; daughters, RuthAnn (Bobby) Williams and Janet Thompson Goulart; granddaughters, Scarlett(Kevin) Smith, Tiffany(Austin) Helms, and Michelle Williams; 2 grandsons; 14 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Haley, Claude “Rip” Haley; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Betty Dobbs.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6th, at 3pm in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Jackie Swanson officiating.
