Odell H. Gass, 86, of Rossville, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 3, 2021 in a local hospital.
Odell was born in Dade County and had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas most of her life. She was employed with Peerless Mills and retired as a Supervisor with Dixie Yarns after 33 years of service. Her passion in life was serving others and was totally devoted to her daughters having sacrificed much to ensure they were well taken care of. Odell enjoyed: cooking, singing, dancing, listening to music and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother, and a friend to many.
Odell was preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Flora Hartline; siblings: Bertha York, Eula Welden, Beulah Mullens, Arlivia Dixon, Ellis Hartline, and Rinzy Hartline.
Survivors include her loving best friend and husband, Verlon “Pete” Gass; devoted daughters: Debbie (Spencer) Mason, Terrie (Steve) Willicombe; step-children: Shearon (Kim Davis) Gass and Dewayne (Micah) Gass; brother, A.D. (Kay) Hartline; sister, Theldon Echols; grandchildren: Alexa, Scott, Levi, Mereda, Lindsey, Stuart, Thomas, Josh, Christina, and Christian; great grandchildren: Aria, Miles, Sonnet, Finn, Fyedka, Adalynn, Liam; and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A private interment will be held on Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
