Paul Comstock, 100, passed away on September 24, 2020.  He was born in Chattanooga on December 25, 1919 and lived in Chattanooga and the surrounding North Georgia area all his life.

 

Mr. Comstock graduated from Central High School in 1940.  He was retired from the Crane Company after 38 years.  He was proud to have served his country from 1941 to 1945 during World War II; serving in the 186th Quartermaster Company in Libya, Tunisia, and China.

 

Mr. Comstock was a long time member of First Alliance Church where he served as a deacon and board member

 

He was preceded in death by his “Sweetheart” and wife of 49 years, Faye Rhinehart Comstock; grandson, Kevin Works; brothers, Charles and Herman; sisters, Thelma Whittenbarger Moon, Emma Connally, and Pearl Frazier Smith; parents, James and Trenia Bolin Comstock; and second wife, Estelle Carter Comstock.

 

Survivors include his daughter, Vicki (Earl) Works of Rossville, GA; grandson, Travis (Emmanuelle) Works; great-grandchildren, Barret, Rhiannon, and Galen Works, all of Tempe, AZ; sister, Margaret Blevins, Trenton, GA; and many nieces and nephews.

 

Pallbearers will be Earl Works, Johnny Frazier, Terry Frazier, Tommy Connally, Rickey Blevins, and Ray Works.

 

The family expresses their gratitude to the staff of Parkside Nursing Home for their kindness and great care during the last 5 years.

 

A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10:30 am-12:30 pm at Lane Funeral Home South Crest Chapel.  Due to the current pandemic, the family requests that masks be worn at all times.  A graveside service at 1:00 pm will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery.

 

Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
