Peggy (Jones) Stone

Peggy Stone, 90 of Rock Spring, GA, passed away Saturday, July 10th, 2021 in the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center.

Peggy was born and raised in the North Georgia area and was a member of Grace Baptist Tabernacle in Noble, GA. She worked for several years in various textile mills in the North Georgia area and was also a talented Tupperware saleswoman. Peggy enjoyed canning, cooking, gardening, and most of all spending time with her family. She was known for having a “green thumb” and was famous for her sourdough bread. Peggy loved to joke and laugh, she had a big heart, and was devoted to her family. She is loved and will be dearly missed.

Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, William “Bill” Stone; son, Charles Bartley Stone; parents, Lloyd and Janie Mae Jones; siblings: Ruby Hilburn, C.L. Jones, Frances Gowan, Franklin Jones, and Wesley Jones.

Survivors include her children: Martha (Dan) Akins, Danny (Cynthia) Stone, and Edward (Patricia) Stone; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; sister, Doris Jones; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday July 14th, 2021 at 11am in the South Crest Chapel with Dr. James Sprayberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
