Phillip Matthew Smith, 49, died December 2, 2017 in Ringgold, Georgia.  He is survived by his wife, Kellie Guffey Smith. His parents are Mary Alice Holland and her deceased husband Jack, father Emmett David Smith and wife Judy; sister Valerie Maldenado and husband Frank;  brother Zachary Smith and wife Haley; brother Paul , wife Betsy; friends and family.

Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Phillip grew up in Chattanooga. He moved to Birmingham, Alabama after graduating from Tyner High School in 1986.

Phillip’s funeral will be held at Heritage Pointe Baptist Church in Ringgold, at 2:00 on December 8th, preceded by an hour of visitation. There will be a graveside service at 2:30 at Lakewood Memory Gardens South in Rossville, Georgia.
