Ray Skidmore, Sr., 80, of Chattanooga passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, June 17, 2020 after a long battle with COPD. A lifelong resident, born and raised in Chattanooga, Ray graduated from Central High School, and worked in the local shipping and transportation industry including such companies as Ernest Holmes, Sherwood Corporation, Averitt, Lesco, and Ahlstrom. He loved cars, motorcycles, antiques, old movies, and his grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his father James E Skidmore, Sr,; beloved mother, Mabel; brother, Gerald; sister, Joan Owenby, and beloved dog Missy.
Survivors include son Douglas Ray (Kathy) Skidmore, Jr., daughters Linda (David) Shirley and Brenda (Terry) Remlin; brothers James (Mona) Skidmore, Patrick Skidmore, Gary (Debbie) Skidmore; grandchildren Noah Shirley, Anna (Samuel) Shirley West, Aleksandr Remlin, Anya Remlin, Erica Baloga; many nieces and nephews; and very dear friends Norman and Jean Jensen.

Memorial services will be 1pm Saturday, June 27, 2020 from the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA. Interment will follow in the Tennessee Georgia Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends 11am until the service time on Saturday.
