Raymond F. Johnson, Sr., 72, Flintstone, Georgia, died March 11, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee. He enjoyed family, grandkids movies, caring for others, and cooking sweets. Mr. Johnson also had coached softball and football for kids and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. He was very active in his church.
Mr. Johnson was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Tennessee National Guard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mabell Mewborn Johnson.
Survivors are his wife, June Johnson; four sons, Raymond (Regina) Johnson, Troy (Kathy) Johnson, Mark (Christy) Johnson and Matt Johnson; brother, Roger Johnson; uncle, Fred Mewborn; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Keith and Rev. Terry Harris officiating.
Interment in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.
The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Thursday in South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home located at the foot of historic Mission Ridge.
