Rita Simmons

Rita Simmons, 52, of East Ridge, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 in a local health care facility.

Rita was saved as a young girl and was a member of Glendale Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Kentucky.  She was employed for over 13 years at NHC-Parkwood in Chattanooga.  Rita loved her family, enjoyed cooking and fishing and had the most giving spirit.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Gerald & Yvonne Simmons.

Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Jerry Simmons; children, Joshua (Francesca) Simmons, Anita Simmons, Rachel Simmons, & Jessica Simmons; grandchildren, Joshua Simmons, Jr., William Simmons, Bridget Abbott, Xavier & Trever Abbott; several nieces & nephews.

Private graveside services will be held for family only with her son, Joshua & Rev. Jimmy Williams officiating.
