Robert L. Collins

Robert Louis Collins, Sr., 81, of Rossville passed away April 29, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family.  He had lived most of his life in North Georgia and several years in the 50’s and 60’s in California.  Mr. Collins was an entrepreneur having owned Arrowhead Candle Company in California, Bay Station, Union 76 Service Center East Ridge, Jiffy Mart, Collins Brothers Service Center and Lou’s Burger Houses.  Mr. Collins was an honest man who did what he said he would do.  He loved helping people and he loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Kathryn Collins; brother, Tommy Collins; and granddaughter, Stephanie Collins.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Alma Geneva “Sis” Collins; four children, Robert (Beverly) Collins, Jr. of Chickamauga, Randall Collins of Rossville, Cathy (Gary) Durham of Rossville, and Michael (Pat Vaughn) Collins of Rossville; two sisters, Betty Jean Sprayberry of Ringgold and Sharon Hutson of Crocket, CA; one brother, Allen (Linda) Collins of Rossville; grandchildren, Daphne (Kevin) Powell, Amanda (John) Robinson, Tiffany (Donald) Martin, Courtney Collins, Candy (Chris) Bunn, Kara Durham, Sarah Durham, Casey Collins, and Tanner (Brandi) Collins; and fifteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 12:00 Noon in the South Crest Chapel with Reverends Bill Proctor and Jackie Swanson officiating.

The family will receive friends Friday from 9:00a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, located at the end of historic Missionary Ridge, Rossville.
