Robert “Bob” Hamby, 83, of Chickamauga passed away Friday, May 21, 2021 at a local hospital. Mr. Hamby lived most of his life in North Georgia. Bob was a Retired United States Navy Veteran having served in Vietnam and Korea receiving numerous commendations. He competed with the Presidential Rifle Team and was a member of the VFW Post 3679. Bob was also a member of the AMA; he enjoyed model planes, trains, and boats; he loved to talk, he never met a stranger, and he loved his family dearly.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Earl Hamby, Sr.; mother, Lena Pope; and son-in-law, Terry Fortson.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bonnie Hamby; five children, Steve (Sandra) Hamby, Yevonne Fortson, Daniel Hamby, Neil Hamby, and Keith Hamby; and his grand fur-babies, Dolly, Pumpkin, and Jack.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, May 27th at 1:30p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the United States Navy.
