Samuel D. Land, Sr. 96 of Rossville, passed away Saturday March 21, 2020 in a local hospital.
Samuel was born in Chattanooga, TN and lived most of his life in the North Georgia area. He was a member of the Church of Christ and proudly raised four children. Samuel proudly served in the US Navy during WW II. He enjoyed NASCAR racing, raising chickens and doves, and loved his dog, Dixie.
Samuel was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Land; parents, Samuel and Ida Land; son, Samuel D. Land III.; and 5 sisters.
Survivors include his children: Joseph L. Land, Evelyn (Jack) Citty, and Lisa (Terry) Reynolds; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held, Tuesday, March 24th, 2020 at 11a.m. in the Lakewood Memory Gardens, South with Kenneth Holcomb officiating.
