Sarah Frances Huey, 88, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, January 11, 2020.
Mrs. Huey was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee June 30, 1931. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a lifelong resident of Catoosa County. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, playing the piano, taking care of animals, and spending time with her family. She graduated from Central High School in 1949. She was a member of the Spring Creek Baptist Church and retired from McDonalds in East Ridge after 23 ½ years of service. A special thank you to her caregiver Corina Mapp and Doctor Benjamin Nadeau and his staff of Tennessee Oncology for all the care and love shown to her.
Mrs. Huey was preceded in death by her husband George Huey Jr.; parents, Robert and Belma Belcher; grandson, J.B. Nance; sister, Betty Paige; and special friend, Floyd Taylor.
Survivors include her children, Georgia (Mike) Nance, Freddy (Angela) Huey, Sheila (Johnny) Brown, and Robert (Hanna) Huey; sister, Jean (Cliff) Barnett; 9 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 1 pm in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Terry Burns officiating. Interment will follow in the Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
