Orville Randolph Coulter “Ranny”, 80, of the Burning Bush Community in Ringgold went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 11, 2022. Ranny had lived most of his life in North Georgia where he was a 1959 graduate of Lafayette High School. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in Vietnam, from 1966-1968, receiving numerous medals including three Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star. After returning home from Vietnam, Ranny worked with Benton Oil Company as a Service Technician for heat and air units. He then worked as a Heat and Air Instructor at Walker Tech in Rock Spring. Ranny retired in 1998 from Watts Bar Nuclear Plant as an Assistant Nuclear Unit Operator with over 20 years of service. He was an active member of Burning Bush Baptist Church where he attended the Joyful Gleaners Sunday School Class and Young at Heart. Ranny was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 203 where he served several years on the Honor Guard. He enjoyed camping with his wife and they were members of the Camping Club. He loved his family dearly, spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Ranny loved to fish and hunt, he loved working in his vegetable garden and yard, and he was an avid Atlanta Braves fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Opal Coulter; brother, Don Coulter; and sister, Jane Chislom.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Sandra Reed Coulter; son, Shawn (Cindy) Coulter; two grandsons, Reed and Alex Coulter; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 15th at 12 noon in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Dennis McNulty and Brother Clarence Smith officiating. Ranny’s grandson, Alex, will be providing the Eulogy.
Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Full Military Honors.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00a.m. until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
