Sharon Olivia Guffey, 71, of East Ridge, Tennessee, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017 in a local hospital.

Sharon was born on November 17, 1945 to the late Lyman and Lillian Murphy and has resided in the East Ridge, Tennessee area for several years. She worked for several years at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga in the Central Sterilization Department as a technician and also attended Payne’s Chapel United Methodist Church of Lookout Mountain, Georgia. Sharon enjoyed going to yard sales, antique stores, taking short weekend trips and collecting angels and bears. Sharon never met a stranger and was dearly loved by her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brother, Howard Mathes.

Survivors include her son, Donald Lee Shirley Jr., sister, Judy (Joe) Osburn, nephews, Chris and Haden Smith, Dale and David Mathes and niece, Missy Smith.

Funeral services will be held 2:00p.m. Thursday in the chapel.
