Sherri Lynn (Curl) Barbee

January 31, 1964 ~ July 8, 2021 (age 57) 57 Years Old

Tribute

Sherri Lynn Curl Barbee, 57 of Rossville, stood on her tip-toes, grabbed her daddy’s hand and was called home by Jesus on Thursday, July 8th, 2021 and is raising her hands and shouting, “I’m Here!”

Sherri was born and raised in the North Georgia area and graduated in the 1982 class of Rossville High School. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was the church pianist for many years. Sherri worked as the Director for Noah’s Ark Christian Learning Center for many years and treated each child as if they were her very own. She also earned her associates degree from Mackenzie College and worked as a financial counselor for Medical Services of Chattanooga. Sherri had an adventurous spirit; she enjoyed going on trips, especially to the beach, going shopping, taking care of her “favorite” pets, and doing anything with her family. She loved to sing, dance, be silly, laugh and make people smile. Sherri never did anything halfway, she always gave 110%. She was a fun, wonderful, compassionate, and loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, aunt, and Grammy. Sherri was a light in this world, she is very much loved and will be deeply missed. She lived life to the fullest and her main goal in life was to keep her eyes forward on Jesus no matter what she faced.

Sherri was preceded in death by her father, DeLacy Curl; sister, Kathy Funderburk; and father-in-law, Lewis Barbee, Sr.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, of almost 36 years, Lewis Barbee, Jr.; children, Brittany Barbee and Brandon (Amanda) Barbee; granddaughter, Bailey Barbee;

mother, Barbara Curl; sister, DeLisa Dickerson; brother, DeLacy Curl, II; mother-in-law, Dorothy Barbee; and several nieces, nephews, and all her favorite pets.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 13th, 2021 at 4pm at Fairview Baptist Church with Reverend Jim Bennett officiating. Mrs. Barbee will lie in state at the Church from 2-4pm. Interment will follow in the Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.
