Steven "Steve" Neal Combs

Steven “Steve” Neal Combs, 73 of Rossville, passed away Saturday, January 11th, 2020 in his home.

Steve was raised in Lewisburg, WV, attended Greenbrier Military Academy, and graduated in the 1964 class of Lewisburg High School. After graduation he joined the US Coast Guard and proudly served his country earning the Coast Guard Unit Commendation Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Steve retired after 30 years of service with the United States Postal Service. In his free time, Steve enjoyed playing darts, playing golf, and spending time with his family.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife of 25 years, Wilma Combs; parents, Eli Combs, Jr. and Libby Sexton; and brother, Freddy Combs.

Survivors include his children, Jennifer Combs and Joseph Combs; granddaughter, Ashlin Combs-Lemley; aunt, Peggy Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Tapestry Hospice for their loving care of their father.

Graveside services will be held Thursday at 12:30p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
