Sue Basham, 72, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and her fur babies. She was born in Chattanooga, TN and has lived in the North GA area for many years after traveling the world with her husband who was in the military. She attended Northwestern Technical College (Walker Tech) with an Associate’s Degree and then worked as a currier for local law offices in the Chattanooga area.
Sue was an avid reader. She loved crocheting, camping, fishing, boat rides and antique “looking”. She and her husband also enjoyed riding motorcycles. She was a member of Cross Connection Church in LaFayette, GA.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Helen Kernea; brothers, Clyde, Raymond and Kenneth Kernea; sister, Barbara Kernea; niece, Cindy Taylor; nephew, DeeDee Kernea and great niece, Megan Taylor.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Michael Basham; daughters, Susan (Ray) Morland-Dalton and Miranda (John) Brooks; grandchildren, Chelsie (Robert) Holt , Stephanda (Adolfo Rodriguez) Akins, Steven Brooks, Samuel Akins and Cassandra (Zack Rybolt) Brooks; great grandchildren, Shiloh Keith, Aiden Keith and Moses Holt; brother, Marshall (Linda) Kernea; several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
