Sue Smith

Mrs. Sue Smith age 78, of Rossville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021.

Mrs. Smith was born in Chattanooga, TN, on March 7, 1943, the daughter of the late Edward Shearin and Edna Corley Mathis. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Smith retired from Bi-Lo after thirty-five years of service as the head bookkeeper. She enjoyed watching football and loved holidays and being with family. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by two sisters, Peggy Kitchens and Christine Freeman; grandson, James Allen Johnson, Jr.; and a great-grandson, James Adam Yancey.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald Smith, to whom she was married on October 15, 1966; sister, Mary Ray; two daughters, Terry Conner and Donna Marrow (Mike); a son, Jim Johnson (Diane); nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside and interment services will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at 2:00 P.M., Lakewood Memory Gardens East.
