Sylvia L. (Daniel) Cohen

Sylvia Cohen, 78, of Flintstone, GA passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, at a local hospital.  Mrs. Cohen was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was a homemaker for many years while the children were growing up.  As the children got older, she worked at Mar-Mode Hosiery in Chattanooga and Rossville Yarns for several years.  Her last job was at K-Mart in Ft. Oglethorpe where she worked in the Shoe Department.  In her retirement years she loved to travel with her husband as he was an over the road truck driver and they were able to see all but two states.  She was of the Christian faith and attended several churches in the area throughout the years.  Mrs. Cohen loved her family, and she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and cooking.  She also loved being outside working in her rose garden and planting plants and flowers.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William George Powell; second husband, Edward Cohen; daughter, Delilah Pace Wright; and seven brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her daughter, Mrs. Laurie (Marvin) Wynne; sister, Eunice Greathouse; brother, Gene Daniel; three grandchildren, Drew Pace, Colton Pace, and Tiffany Wynne; three great grandchildren, Ryleigh Edwards, Raegan Edwards, and Lillah Kay Pace; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:00p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Erttie Veal officiating.

Interment will follow in the Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 12:00noon until the funeral hour at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville, GA.
