Tammy (Tipton) Scott

Tammy Jo Scott, 50, went to heaven on Thursday, June 3, 2021 after battling with scleroderma since 2007. She was born January 18, 1971 to Ray Tipton and Linda Hopkins in South Pittsburgh, Tennessee. She was raised in Tracy City, TN, where she graduated from Grundy County High School in 1989. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Rossville, GA where she served multiple years in the nursery and teaching vacation bible school.

                Tammy was a caring individual who dedicated her life to teaching and serving others. She graduated in 1993 from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga with a degree in education which she used to teach at Red Bank Middle School for 7 years. She also married her best-friend Howell Dewayne Scott in 1993 who she raised a family with in Ringgold, GA. She was the voice of reason in a house of men, having three sons: Dylan, Noah, and Stephen Scott. She decided to change her career to full-time mom after having her second son, Noah. She lived the rest of her life teaching, guiding, and educating her kids through all aspects of life.

                Tammy is the definition of the perfect mom and perfect wife. She was a strong, caring, loving, and faith driven individual. She was an exceptional person with an unparalleled faith in the Lord. She was a deeply Christian women who loved God and taught her kids to do the same. She led a house of men, raising children who strive to be more like her every day. She was a loving and faithful wife who cared deeply for her husband. She always had a heart for humanity, caring for everyone else more than herself. She lived a true life of service, being a positive light in everyone she met. She would always provide for others before herself even when she was sick. Tammy will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her as the legacy she left is unparalleled.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Ray Tipton, and Grandmother, Marie Henderson.

                Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Dewayne Scott; three sons, Dylan, Noah, and Stephen Scott; Mother, Linda Hopkins; Stepfathers, Jim Nunley, Robert Hopkins; Sisters, Dianna Meeks, Donna Adams (Tim), and Kristy Nunley; brothers, Kevin Tipton (Lynn), Ray Tipton Jr.; Mother-in-law, Montine Scott; faithful chihuahua, Tebo, and multiple nieces and nephews.

                There will be a graveside funeral service 3pm Monday, June 7 at Tennessee Georgia Memorial Cemetery, 724 Hogan Rd Rossville, GA.
